Maggie Brickner

At age 16, Maggie’s first yoga class transformed her relationship with movement forever. Unlike her experiences in school gym class, this new practice challenged her to forge a deeper connection with her body. Her love for yoga opened a world of opportunities, leading her to explore more fitness classes, such as step aerobics and indoor cycling. Eventually, Maggie felt called to share her passion by becoming an instructor. As both a yoga and Pilates teacher, she discovered her true vocation: helping others embrace their strength, flexibility and healing journey. Following her uterine cancer diagnosis in her early 60s, Maggie felt immense support from her Pilates community throughout her healing process. As a witness of the benefits of Pilates, Maggie is convinced that it can be an incredible tool for healing from injuries and trauma. In addition to teaching mat and equipment Pilates and yoga, Maggie enjoys swimming. She finds that, like the Reformer, water teaches valuable lessons about resistance—providing both gentleness and strength. Maggie is a Safe Movement for All Spines authorized trainer. This program informs her work with degenerative spine and hip conditions in Pilates, yoga, and personal training environments.
